H&B Mortar Trap
The H&B Mortar Trap is a high-performance mortar collection device designed to improve drainage in masonry cavity walls. Constructed from durable polypropylene strands, it forms a 90% open mesh that suspends mortar droppings, preventing them from blocking the flow of water to weep holes. Its unique shape breaks up mortar as it falls, helping maintain a clear drainage path behind the veneer.
This product is ideal for use in brick or stone cavity wall systems where moisture management is critical. When installed with proper flashing and weep systems, the Mortar Trap ensures that water can freely escape the wall cavity, reducing the risk of moisture-related damage over time. It does not absorb water, degrade from temperature changes, or support mold or fungal growth.
Designed for fast and simple installation, the Mortar Trap fits easily into the cavity without fasteners, adhesives, or specialized tools. It is slightly compressible to adjust to cavity width variations in the field and is UV-resistant for up to 30 days of exposure during installation. When used with the Quadro-Vent Weep Hole, no additional insect screening is needed.
