Brickform DAY 1 Finishing Aid is a colloidal silica-based concrete finishing aid designed to make flatwork finishing easier, faster, and more consistent. Applied during floating and troweling, DAY1 lubricates the surface, increases cream, and extends workability so crews can properly close and finish the slab without fighting premature set. It is ideal for large flatwork pours, slabs on grade, decorative concrete, and any job where conditions make finishing difficult.

Unlike adding water to the surface, DAY 1 does not change the water-to-cement ratio or weaken the concrete. Instead, it becomes a permanent part of the slab, helping to harden and densify the surface while reducing efflorescence, checking, crazing, and scaling. It is especially useful in hot, dry, or windy weather and on mixes using superplasticizers, silica fume, or low water-to-cement ratios where finishing time is often tight.

Brickform DAY1 improves impact and abrasion resistance, creates a less permeable surface, and helps control moisture vapor transmission. It also reduces the risk of slab curling and minimizes the potential for alkali silica reaction (ASR).
