H&B 2-Seal Thermal Concrete Wing Nut Anchor - 175/box
The H&B 2-Seal Thermal Concrete Wing Nut Anchor is an innovative single screw veneer tie designed for concrete, CMU, and wood stud construction. This advanced anchor system improves thermal efficiency, moisture resistance, and structural performance by incorporating a dual-diameter stainless steel barrel with factory-installed EPDM washers that create a weather-tight seal on both the insulation face and air/vapor barrier. The reinforced thermal wings, made from steel encapsulated in flame-resistant plastic, serve as a thermal break to minimize heat transfer through rigid insulation, reducing energy loss in masonry veneer systems. These wings also accept 2X-HOOK or Seismic 2X-HOOK pintles, allowing them to spin for easy orientation parallel to masonry joints and provide up to 1/2” of inward adjustability for wall thickness variations. H&B's stainless steel barrels offer significantly lower thermal conductivity than standard carbon steel or zinc-coated barrels, enhancing energy efficiency in insulated masonry applications. For structural integrity, the 2X-HOOK exceeds industry standards, withstanding over 200-lbf in tension and compression—more than 100% stronger than traditional round wire hooks and pintles. The anchor is seismically adaptable with the addition of 9 gauge or 3/16" continuous wire and a Seismic 2X-HOOK Pintle.
