H&B X-Seal Transition Membrane - 75' Roll

H&B X-Seal Transition Membrane is a self-sealing, self-adhering flashing tape engineered for use with the ENVIRO-BARRIER air and moisture barrier system. It is designed to seal critical transition areas such as window and door openings, panel joints, and dissimilar substrate interfaces. This high-performance membrane helps prevent air and water infiltration at vulnerable connection points in commercial and residential wall systems.

The membrane is made from a proprietary synthetic rubber adhesive that is integrally bonded to a reinforced polyolefin/polypropylene film. It can be used under ENVIRO-BARRIER Liquid to maintain barrier continuity where materials meet or shift. X-Seal is ideal for use around beams, columns, and irregular surfaces, creating a smooth transition from one plane to another. It provides long-lasting durability without rotting, cracking, or drooling like traditional asphalt-based products.

With a UV resistance of up to 120 days and compatibility with a wide range of substrates, this membrane is well-suited for demanding jobsite conditions. Available in multiple widths and manufactured from recycled content, X-Seal helps contractors meet performance and sustainability goals with ease.

Customer Questions
How does X-Seal Transition Membrane enhance the ENVIRO-BARRIER™ system?
X-Seal provides a self-sealing, airtight, and watertight transition between different substrates, ensuring the continuity of the ENVIRO-BARRIER™ air and vapor barrier system.

Can this membrane be applied to rough or porous surfaces?
Yes, X-Seal adheres well to CMU, OSB, plywood, and glass-faced sheathing. However, for highly porous or irregular surfaces, a compatible primer may be required to ensure optimal adhesion.
